WAN

How to Specify a WAN MAC Address?

Some of the ISPs will only allow access the Internet using their supplied equipment and they usually do this by locking the MAC address. We can specify the WAN MAC address for the Vigor router to overcome this limitation. In some instances this may not be sufficient and you will need to contact the ISP to update their database to allow your router to be connected. This application note shows you how to change the WAN MAC address in a Vigor3900 router

  1. How to connect two VigorAPs by Bridge-WDS mode?

Bridge-WDS is one of the VigorAP operation modes.  This document will introduce how to set up bridge-WDS mode between two VigorAPs.

VPN

  1.        How to use mOTP on Smart VPN iOS App?

This document shows how to use One-Time password (OTP) on SmartVPN iOS app for VPN authentication. Mobile One-Time password (mOTP) is calculated by the PIN code, secret, and the current time, the temporary one-time password provide a  higher level of authentication security.

 

  1.        What is the Certificate Verify Level in Smart VPN iOS APP?

During the initiation of an SSL connection, the client will verify the server's identity by checking the certificate provided by the server. As an SSL client, Smart VPN iOS App can select different verification levels since version 1.3. To change the verification level, go to Setting >> CERTIFICATE and tap Verify Level. There are three levels to choose, "Basic", "Match server name", and "Verify Root CA". Users can use a verification level that matches their needs. This note is going to explain the differences between them.

This application note shows how to configure the Vigor Router to use the OpenDNS IP as DNS server and block specific LAN clients from using other DNS servers, enabling them be protected by the Family Shield service.
