How do I setup syslog over VPN?
Posted by Gabriel Yu on 12 May 2008 03:10 AM

Some customers are requiring getting syslog information from the remote DrayTek router over VPN tunnel. In this example, we are going to show you our basic setup.

Network structure:

On Vigor 2800 > System Management > Syslog Access Set as follows:

  • Enable
  • Server IP Address: 192.168.1.5
  • Destination Port:  514

On PC2, install router tool and set syslog relay refer to below image

Then you can capture Vigor2800's syslog on PC1, PC2 will send the syslog packet to PC1 through the VPN tunnel.
