How do I change the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) size?
Posted by Gabriel Yu on 14 March 2008 04:01 AM
DrayTek routers are pre-configured to the maximum packet size of 1492 bytes (being 1500 bytes less IP headers).

However some ISPs use other maximum packet sizes - most noticable TSN with 1400 or Chilli with 1500.  To change the MTU to 1400 :

With older versions of Draytek firmware, telnet to your Vigor router and enter the command...
wan mtu 1400

DrayTek have changed the command in their newer versions of firmware to ...
wan ppp_mss 1400
