Why am I Unable to Connect to my Mail Server via HTTPS from the Internet?

Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is used to provide encryption and a secure connection with the server and uses TCP port 443 by default. Vigor routers also support HTTPS for access to the router web interface.

The problem arises when attempting to connect to a HTTPS server behind the router from the Internet.  By default the Vigor router will intercept port 443 even though remote access control is disabled in the router.  The solution is to change the default HTTPS port in the router to a different number as shown below:

Select   “User Define Ports” and change HTTPS port to a new value.

On Vigor routers supporting “SSL VPN” you will also need to change the default SSL port (443) to a different value as shown below:
