What LAN IP Address should I use?

We recommend that you use the default values (192.168.1.1 subnet 255.255.255.0).

If you will be making VPN connections to another LAN which uses 192.168.1.x numbers, you will need to use a different 3rd number (e.g.192.168.100.x).

To improve the efficiency of the Vigor routers, DrayTek has made a compromise assuming that only the last byte (ie. the last number) of the IP Address will be unique.  This is known as "class C" addresses, and allows for up to 253 devices.

If you need more than 253 connected devices, DrayTek have advised that their enterprise models (Vigor 2900 and Vigor 3300 series') currently support Class B addresses, and will in future support Class A adresses.
