How to Connect a DrayTek Vigor2830 router to TPG NBN

This guide will show you how to configure the DrayTek Vigor2830 router to TPG NBN connection. TPG requires a username and password to authenticate the connection so we will use PPPoE for authentication.

Step 1 - Connect to the router Admin page

Using your internet browser go to 192.168.1.1.

User name: admin

Password: admin

 Log into your router

 

 

Step 2 – Configuring WAN
a. Go to WAN>>General Setup and click on WAN2.


Click on WAN2

b. Select Yes to enable WAN2.

For NBN HFC TPG the know VLAN tag are 100 and 2

 

Step 3 – Setting PPPoE

a. Go to WAN>>Internet Access and change WAN2 to PPPoE using the drop down box. Then click on Details Page.

Select PPPoE and then click on the "Details Page"

 

 

b. Go to WAN>> Internet Access and click on the Details Page for WAN2 to bring up the WAN2 menu.
c. Click Enable.
d. Enter in your username and password supplied by TPG.

Sign in with your own TPG username and password

 

 

e. Click OK and you will then be prompt with the Reboot System box
f. simply click OK with the top option “Using current configuration” is ticked.

keep the top circle ticked and click "OK"

 

 

 

g. Lastly, click on the link provided to access the log in page again after waiting 10 seconds.

wait around 10 seconds and then click the link

 

 

Step 4 – Check the router is connected to TPG NBN

Log in into the router once the router has restarted.

a. Go to Online Status>>Physical Connection and check the status of WAN2 indicating that the router is now connected.

You should have a similar screen to the one below. You can now access the Internet through the Vigor2830 router.

Check that WAN2 is working
