How to use URL content filter to block the websites with exception list?

This application note shows how to set up a URL filter to include keyword exceptions. The example used is to block “Yahoo” web pages but allow web searches using Yahoo.

Why can I see Vigor Router's Web Login Page from WAN by HTTPS when "Allow management from the Internet" is disabled?

 When you disable remote access to the router, you may notice that you will still see the router web login page when you try to access the router using HTTPS.  This is due to SSL VPN still running in the router which also uses port 443. This application note provides a couple of methods to overcome this issue.

  •          DNSSEC caused router reboot.

How to prevent the LAN clients from the possible Punycode Phishing Attack?

"Punycode" is a way to represent Unicode within the limited character subset of ASCII used for Internet host names. However, this may cause some security issues where some letters are very similar to another one in different languages. Therefore, it is a possible that this may be exploited by hackers constructed a fake website designed to steal visitor’s personal information.

This application note shows how to use URL and DNS filtering to block Punycode where the URLs usually start with "xn--".
