The firewall facilities looked at will be Stateful packet inspection (SPI), IP Default filters and Denial of Service (DoS) defence. It will also include a discussion of configuration options available.

  •          Accept/Block Immediately
  •          Accept/Block if No Further Match while Next Group is selected
  •          Accept/Block if No Further Match while Next Group is left blank

How to establish BGP connection?

Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is now supported in the latest official firmware release in the Vigor2860 router.

How to set up Vigor2952 as PPPoE server for LAN clients?

Vigor2952 can be set as PPPoE server for LAN clients. This can secure LAN clients connection by PPP authentication. Furthermore, network administrator can set the connection time and data quota to regulate the LAN clients.

How to enable ALG (Application Layer Gateway)?

 ALG is used in Vigor routers to replace the private IP with public IP in the negotiation packet from the client and open dynamic TCP/UDP ports required in the connection. This application note covers various configuration scenarios.

How to use DrayDDNS?

DrayTek have announced that they are now providing a DDNS service - DrayDDNS. It will provide a domain name for each Vigor Router, updating the DDNS IP address for the WAN connection. This application note shows how to set up the DrayDDNS feature in the Vigor2925 router.

(This feature is currently only available in firmware version 3.8.4.2 for the Vigor2925 series routers. This feature will be added to other models as a firmware update.

How to use Temperature Sensor?

This application note shows how to configure Temperature Sensor on Vigor DrayOS router.

You will need to have the USB Thermometer (DT201U) plugged into the router USB port for this feature to be available.

The LAN DNS feature is to enables the Vigor Router act as a DNS server for specific DNS queries from LAN clients. Vigor3900 supports three types of LAN DNS settings, they are IP, CNAME and FORWARD.

This article applies to Vigor3900, Vigor2960 and Vigor300B routers.

How to use DrayDDNS?

DrayDNS is a new feature introduced in Vigor routers to provide a domain name for each Vigor router.  This is a free service that will need to be renewed on an annual basis.

It is currently available in Vigor2925 firmware version 3.8.4.2.  It will be added to other models in future firmware releases.
