New Application Notes

WAN

The Difference between Service and Customer WAN VLAN Tag Insertion

This application note describes how to configure the VLAN Tag Insertion setting for the WAN. The latest firmware now has a “Service” and “Customer” VLAN Tag insertion setting. This new type of VLAN tag supports QinQ. This feature is not widely used in Australia by ISP’s but is causing confusion with customers when configuring the router. For Australia both “Service” and “Customer” VLAN Tag insertion will give the same result so either can be used when setting up the WAN connection.

For a description on how this configuration works you can read the application note.
